WEBIf you are a fibre customer, it’s likely you’ll have an Openreach modem (or ONT) installed. This white box connects to a fibre-optic cable that runs to your house and enables you to access our FTTP fibre network for broadband and voice.
How is Full Fibre installed? | BT Help
WEBWith Full Fibre installation, we'll upgrade the primary phone socket (the white box on the wall) and install an Openreach modem (ONT), which connects to the fibre optical cable that comes into your house. The ONT enables you to get our fibre broadband and phone services, and connects to your BT Smart Hub.

WEBStep 1: Check your Hub. Check all cables are firmly plugged in. The Ethernet cable (red ends) must be plugged into the WAN port (or port 4) on your Hub and the other end into the Openreach modem's PORT1/LAN1 port - the number of ports on these modems can vary.
3rd party router for Full Fibre / FTTP /Ultrafast - BT Community
WEBFeb 9, 2022 · If you move to FTTP then you don't have to use the SH2. You can plug a 3rd party router directly into the fibre ONT and set up a PPPoE connection. This is what I've done using a 3rd party router and mesh system.

Check the power cable is properly in (the one on the left-hand side) and that the mains connection on the other end is switched on. You have a fibre connection issue – check the fibre connection in the bottom of the ONT.

Hi how much does it cost to move a full fiber modem because at the moment it’s not installed in the center of the house so I’m having to use a long Ethernet cable to connect the hub to it, and it’s causing me issues.
