Voters in the key battleground of Pennsylvania may notice their ballots look different this year, as the state prepares to deploy a new design in the general election for the first time this year that aims to reduce the number of rejected votes.

Sweetened by free scoops of ice cream, voter registration drives across campus provided support to hundreds of newly eligible students seeking to participate in November’s elections.

The state rolled out automatic registration for voting on National Voter Registration Day one year ago today, which has led to over 150,000 newly registered voters in Pennsylvania. In 2023, Governor Josh Shapiro announced a change to the driver’s license renewal process that would automatically register people to vote unless they opt-out.
